Illustration is a vibrant, diverse and versatile area of visual communication with a primary focus on creating and implementing original imagery. With professional application falling anywhere between commercial graphic design and conceptual art works, contemporary illustration can encompass any number of styles; from hand-rendered traditional techniques through to the latest digital developments. Over the duration of the course, students are encouraged to establish and refine their own creative voice in response to a series of professional standard briefs, gaining both an understanding for real-world application of illustration and their own individual practice. The course is heavily ideas-driven with an emphasis on unique, personal and conceptual approaches to illustration.
