The SCheDule: An Animated Calendar for the SCD
abigail donato
The SCheDule is an animated calendar system created for the School of Communication & Design to unify event communication across its three departments. Previously, information was fragmented and the school lacked a clear visual presence within the CM building. This project addresses both issues by creating a centralized, engaging display that communicates events while reinforcing the school’s identity.
The solution is a 3×3 monitor wall that functions as a dynamic, animated calendar with smooth transitions between departmental content. Supported by a cohesive brand system and style guide, it activates the space visually, improves access to event information, and invites broader engagement from the Loyola community.
UX DESIGN PRACTICUM
Project 1: Great Ideas of Humanity Poster
Brief: This poster was created for the Design Museum of Chicago's "Great Ideas of Humanity" series in which each designer must incorporate a quote into their piece.
My Solution: I chose my quote because I felt it was an impactful quote through a nature outlook. Even though the bright flowers and colorful plants are something people usually find beautiful about nature, it is important to remember how beautiful and important all nature is.
Project 2: Zeisner’s Rebrand
Brief: Re-imagine a product brand through research, iteration, and multi- touch point design, resulting in a cohesive brand systems that engage new audiences across in-store and digital experiences.
My Solution: The goal was to reach a wider audience and make Zeisner more known, since the original packaging does not really tell much information and is confusing to consumers. It also gives the brand a voice so consumers know what the product is for and who it is coming from.
Project 3: STRIKE - Network Branding
Brief: Design a fictional network from the ground up, using a strong central concept to drive a cohesive, multi-platform design system tailored to diverse audiences.
My Solution: This network is for the viewer that needs a garuntee spot to tune in to watch a variety of women’s sports, from collegiate, professional, and Olympics.
