A-Roll
Amelie Seemann
A-Roll: A Student Film Archive is a website designed for Loyola’s Filmmaking Department to establish a stronger online presence and preserve student work. Without a centralized archive, it has been difficult for the program to showcase its output, limiting visibility for prospective students and external audiences.
The platform takes inspiration from streaming interfaces to create an accessible, easy-to-browse experience for discovering student films. It also includes individual student profiles featuring film credits and links to their work, helping connect audiences to creators while strengthening the department’s brand and long-term visibility.
UX DESIGN PRACTICUM
Project 1: Great Ideas Exhibit
Brief: Build an interactive companion for the Great Ideas Loyno exhibit allowing users to view more information about pieces in the show and extending the exhibition’s impact beyond the gallery.
Solution: This app allows users to easily access information about the posters from anywhere through a QR code. Posters' pages contain extra information and context about their design and designer.
Project 2: Student Peace Initiative
Brief: Design a new web experience for the Student Peace Initiative (SPI) that informs the target audience about the organization’s work, highlights their major yearly events, and encourages them to submit abstracts to present at the Peace Conference.
Solution: Users to the site are able to browse events and sort through journals and conferences. On every page there is a link to a volunteer signup ensuring anyone interested in involvement can easily find it.
Project 3: Niche
Brief: Create an ecommerce website for the Design Department’s store, Niche, focusing on strategic branding and UI design aimed at engaging students, faculty, and alumni.
Solution: A tactile, motion-rich website that uses textures and patterns to evoke the handmade quality of the boutique — drawing users into the story of each product and the makers behind them.
