CMM Portable Exhibit
A’Naya LaGrandsmith
Spreading information to prospective students is essential, especially in a competitive college environment where visibility can affect a student's decision making. First impressions are important and can determine whether someone stops to engage or simply passes by.
The CMM Portable Exhibit is a modular double sided exhibit that visually and informatively captures what the College of Music & Media is about. By having a modular exhibit that is easily transportable, with bold typography and striking graphics, spreading word about the amazing programs at Loyola becomes possible. Helping the College of Music & Media stand out and effectively communicate the creativity and thought that define the college in a dynamic way.
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE COURSE
Project 1: Personal Branding
Brief: Design a poster for the Design Museum of Chicago’s Great Ideas of Humanity exhibition. Use quotes from famous authors, Loyola professors or New Orleans voices. Your design should visually amplify each message.
My Solution: My quote “What man’s mind can create, man’s character can control” resonated with me. To express this balance, I used my photography practice to create the central visual, reflecting my overall design approach.
Project 2: Snail Mail
Brief: Re-imagine a product brand through research, iteration, and multi- touch point design, resulting in a cohesive brand systems that engage new audiences across in-store and digital experiences.
My Solution: The goal was to introduce Asian cuisine to Western audiences through familiar design. By using Western conventions, I positioned Honey Bee as an accessible entry point for those new to Asian food culture.
Project 3: Network Rebrand
Brief: Design a fictional network from the ground up, using a strong central concept to drive a cohesive, multi-platform design system tailored to diverse audiences.
My Solution: The campaign highlights Loyola’s alumni to showcase the program’s close-knit culture, using a magazine format to give prospective students a tangible sense of what it offers.
