Loyno Film Logo, Motion, & Branding

Carey Smith

Loyno Film Branding repositions Loyola’s filmmaking department as a cohesive, professional studio by simplifying its identity and addressing the confusion around “Loyola NOLA.” Despite producing award-winning work, the department lacks a unified visual system that reflects its credibility and storytelling strength.

The solution is a full brand redesign for “Loyno Film,” including a new logo, brand guide, logo animation, and film intro motion piece. Together, these elements create a consistent identity that elevates student work and presents the program as a professional, story-driven film studio.

UX DESIGN PRACTICUM

Project 1: Loyola CMM Recruitment Flipbook

Brief: Loyola University New Orleans looks to solve an enrollment dropoff in the college of music and media. How can a graphic design project help attract high school students to join the College of Music and Media?

Solution: An interactive animated flipbook displaying Loyola's values of collaboration and iteration.

Project 2: Dust-Off Rebrand

Brief: Reimagine an everyday product through research, iteration, and multi-touchpoint design, resulting in a cohesive brand system that engage new audiences across in-store and digital experiences.

Solution: I redesigned the logo and packaging for "Dust-Off", as well as the parent company "Falcon Safety Products". The new brand is a stark contrast from the original version in its simplicity.

Project 3: Personal Branding

Brief: Design a distinctive personal brand through a web portfolio, business card, résumé, and visual identity system that communicates a strong creative voice as a storyteller and maker.

Solution: My brand is minimal but rough. I like experimenting with combining a digital and analog process in my design work, which is a style I look to communicate in my personal brand.
