Library Commons Mobile App
Daniel Wong
The Monroe Library is a vital resource for the Loyola community, but it is difficult for Loyola students to see availability of equipment and study rooms without having to go physically to the library, without certainty that what they seek is available. The Library Commons provides a solution to this problem by creating a task-oriented mobile hub, where students can access several disjointed services in one place. They will be able to rent study rooms ahead of time, borrow equipment, pay off any outstanding fees, have their digital student ID at hand, among other things. Not only will this lessen friction between students and their task, it will also improve accessibility after hours and transparency, thus improving their trust in the library.
