“Heroes and Sheroes” Exhibition Campaign

Eli elliott

With little public acknowledgement of Loyola’s Diboll Design Center, the idea behind creating a unique design campaign for Corita Kent’s Heroes and Sheroes exhibition stemmed from wanting to bring the passion from the artist into the eyes and hands of the viewers. The solution was to create an ambiguous but eyecatching form of campus advertising, as well as a Corita Kent inspired bingo card, encouraging attendees of the gallery to view not only the work, but reflect on the work’s meanings. The design campaign would extend off campus, eventually into real world community involvement, connecting to Corita’s passion for activism against social injustice, racism, and poverty. This matters because it’s important to keep artists', like Corita, legacy alive through their passion to continue inspiring generations to come.
