Student Music Archive
Daniel garces
This project for Loyola University New Orleans’ School of Music and Theatre Professions addresses the loss of student music after its initial release. It proposes an analog archival system that transforms temporary digital work into a lasting physical format.
Through a vinyl compilation and accompanying print materials, the archive preserves music alongside its context, credits, and process. The result is a cohesive, collectible record that gives visibility to student artists and builds a lasting cultural legacy.
UX DESIGN PRACTICUM
Project 1: Package Redesign
Brief: Reimagine an everyday product through research, iteration, and multi-touchpoint design, resulting in a cohesive brand system that engage new audiences across in-store and digital experiences.
Solution: I created a handmade, illustrated system that emphasizes coastal warmth, family-style charm, and playful character, creating a more authentic and emotionally resonant brand with strong shelf presence.
Project 2: Great Ideas of Humanity Loyno
Brief: Design a poster for the Design Museum of Chicago’s Great Ideas of Humanity exhibition. Use quotes from famous authors, Loyola professors or New Orleans voices. Your design should visually amplify each message.
Solution: A hybrid analog-digital poster that uses circular “worlds” to visualize Wittgenstein's idea that language limits perception, revealing fragments of personal imagery while concealing the rest.
Project 3: Network Branding
Brief: Design a fictional network from the ground up, using a strong central concept to drive a cohesive, multi-platform design system tailored to diverse audiences.
Solution: A house music network brand that archives and celebrates house culture through motion design, live sets, and behind-the-scenes storytelling rooted in rhythm and energy.
