MappeD
Makenna Lyles
mappeD is a projection-mapped spatial branding system for the Diboll Design Center designed to address its low visibility within the quiet environment of Monroe Library. The gallery’s static identity currently blends into its surroundings, making it difficult to communicate the experimental nature of the Design Department.
This solution transforms the existing logo into a dynamic, responsive visual experience using light, motion, and form. Projected onto the gallery entrance, the system creates a moment of perceptual contrast that signals the space as active and evolving, strengthening recognition and engagement with the Design Center.
UX DESIGN PRACTICUM
Project 1: Great Ideas Exhibit
Brief: Build an interactive companion for the Great Ideas Loyno exhibit allowing users to view more information about pieces in the show and extending the exhibition’s impact beyond the gallery.
Solution: This app allows users to easily access information about the posters from anywhere through a QR code. Posters' pages contain extra information and context about their design and designer.
Project 2: Niche Website Design
Brief: Create an ecommerce website for the Design Department’s store, Niche, focusing on strategic branding and UI design aimed at engaging students, faculty, and alumni.
Solution: Showcase exclusive student and alumni products through a clean, elevated UI that balances handmade warmth with a trustworthy shopping experience.
