ASPECT RATIO

2026 DESIGN CAPSTONE

Fall 2025: Professional Practice Course & UX Design Practicum

Whether taken in the Graphic Design or UX Design track, this course shares a common purpose: helping students build the essential skills they’ll need as creative professionals. They learn how to research effectively, present their work with confidence, develop a strong portfolio, manage deadlines, promote themselves, and use feedback to improve their ideas.

Through a mix of lectures, hands-on critiques, guest reviewers, and real-world fieldwork, students tackle practical challenges similar to those designers face every day. The course also lays the groundwork for the senior capstone, offering both practical tools and valuable industry connections that help them launch successful careers in design.

Spring 2026: Loyola Design Capstone + Pontchartrain Conservancy

This year’s exhibition, Aspect Ratio, features Capstone and Professional Practice work from graduating Graphic and UX Design students. The show explores the dynamic relationship between research and form, highlighting how diverse ideas, disciplines, and client perspectives come together through a collaborative design process. Each project reflects the transformation of individual parts into a cohesive whole.
